Company Overview
Two Men and a Truck is one of the most recognized moving brands in the United States. The company's origins date to the early 1980s, when brothers Brig and Jon Sorber began moving people in the Lansing, Michigan area using a 1966 Ford pickup truck. Their mother, Mary Ellen Sheets, developed the original "stick-men" logo and continued fielding moving requests while working a full-time state job.
In 1985, Sheets formalized the business by purchasing a 14-foot moving truck for $350 and hiring a pair of movers. That modest investment became the foundation of a national franchise system. The first franchise location was awarded in 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia, and the brand has since grown to more than 400 locations worldwide and a fleet of more than 3,000 trucks. The company operates under the tagline "The Movers Who Care."
